Our Lunch & Learn event features the founders of two of NM’s promising bioscience firms that were selected to give presentations on their companies at the recent BIO International Convention in San Diego. They will repeat their ten-minute presentations for you in addition to providing an overview of their firm’s “next steps” on their road to success. In addition, you’ll from the newly appointed chairman & CEO of BioFlyte, which recently received $6.1M in Series A financing. It also participated as a partner in the NM Pavilion at the BIO convention.

Alex Koglin is Co-founder and CEO of NTx, a bioinformatics and biomanufacturing company advancing cell free, continuous flow manufacturing solutions for medical products and material sciences. Alex received his PhD in biophysical chemistry from the University in Frankfurt/ Main, Germany. He was a Postdoc at the Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA, and an Oppenheimer Fellow at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM. Alex focuses on bioinformatic analysis of natural product biosynthetic clusters.

Dr. Maulik Shah, MD PhD is a serial biotech entrepreneur in the field of medical diagnostics. He is the founder of QUASR, a New Mexico based C-corp, diagnostics company focused on commercializing rapid diagnostic assays and equipment in the infectious disease space. Dr. Shah received his MD and his PhD from the Medical College of Virginia. He was one of the founding members of the Saint Louis Institute of Nanomedicine. Dr. Shah has held academic appointments at the University of Florida and University of Central Florida. He was Medical Director for Numares, a large International medical diagnostics company and headed research and development and US commercialization of their diagnostic pipeline. He is currently Medical Director, Laboratory Director and Founder of Applied InGENuity Diagnostics, a molecular diagnostics company focused on precision medicine.

Our third speaker is Todd Sickles, who was recently appointed Chairman and CEO of BioFlyte.The Albuquerque-based firm is driving the commercialization of disruptive, next generation biotechnology solutions, based on a revolutionary new class of fieldable bio-threat sampling, detection and identification products, designed to mitigate biothreat scenarios in both the Government and Commercial sectors.Todd has 35 years of corporate experience in both the Commercial and Federal Government domains with executive leadership roles in strategy development and execution, new product development and launch, service line creation, implementation of transformational change initiatives, and growth/sustainment of senior client relationships.
