Past EventApplications of Modern Genome Sciences in Medicine and Beyond
Momo Vuyisich, PhD. will review the recent advancements in genome sciences and how they relate to Medicine, alternative energy, and environmental sciences.
Momo Vuyisich, Ph.D., has received a diverse training in many biochemical disciplines, from organic synthesis to cell biology. He has worked at LANL for over eight years, mostly in the area of biodefense. Over the last 1.5 years, he has been an R&D Scientist in the Genome Center, where he has implemented modern sequencing methods for a variety of projects. Momo is interested in many genomic applications, especially the role the gut flora plays in human health, pathogen detection and characterization, sequencing of extinct species, etc. Momo will review the recent advancements in genome sciences and how they relate to Medicine, alternative energy, and environmental sciences.
