Past EventNMBio April 14 Meeting – BIO Food and Agricultural Issues Update

In this session Kate Hall, Managing Director, Council on Biotechnology Information for our national BIO organization, will discuss the future biotech product pipeline; the status of regulatory approvals in the U.S. and in key overseas markets, including China and the EU; as well as the debate surrounding the use of GMOs and state labeling initiatives. We will conclude with an overview of GMO Answers, an industry initiative focused on proactively engaging with consumers and answering their questions and concern, no matter what they are, about GMOs.

About our speaker: 

Kate Hall is the Managing Director for the Council for Biotechnology Information (CBI) and is responsible for CBI’s outreach efforts to positively impact acceptance of modern agricultural biotechnology in North America.  In this capacity Ms. Hall manages the GMO Answers initiative, developing and implementing strategy, creating content, and engaging through social media platforms.  Additionally, she works to build partnerships with stakeholders throughout agriculture in environmental conservation, food security and agricultural development.  Previously, Ms. Hall worked at CropLife America and USAID.  She has a masters degree from the University of Exeter in international relations and political theory, and a bachelors degree in English Literature and Asian Studies from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
