Speaker Bios

Debra Inman

Debra is Vice President of Albuquerque Economic Development. Prior to joining AED in 2006, she was the Economic Development Representative at PNM with responsibility for management and marketing of a regional economic development association. She also promoted statewide economic development legislative initiatives and coordinated PNM’s responses for electric and gas services for new and expanding companies in the metro area. Previous to locating to New Mexico in 1999, she had over 20 years experience in the private sector markets of manufacturing, finance, and mergers and acquisitions.

Dennis Houston, CMA

Dennis Houston’s executive career as a Controller, CFO, Vice-President, and corporate officer has spanned over thirty years and includes positions in private industry working at Envirco, Ktech Corp, and General Technology Corp. He has served on the Board of Directors and Board of Trustees as well. His career also includes working as a private consultant for mid-market business owners planning exit strategies and representing them in the sale of their businesses. He has supported Albuquerque Economic Development and the City of Albuquerque in local existing business development program efforts for the past ten years. In his last permanent CFO position he was instrumental in the sale of the business to a New York Stock Exchange company for $25 million.

 Mr. Houston has a Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) degree from the Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico. He received his certification in 1984 as a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) from the Institute of Management Accountants. Dennis serves on the New Mexico Public Accountancy Board which regulates all CPA’s in the state.
