IN THE KNOW — NOVEMBER

After two months of recruiting speakers, raising funds, organizing and hosting the second annual Knowledge Fair & Expo as well as the November 15 workshop – New Mexico’s Bioscience Industry; Accelerating Its Success  — and networking event, I’m delighted to have the opportunity to resume writing and distributing NMBio’s almost monthly newsletter.

First and foremost, I want to thank all of you that were able to attend either or both of these two successful events. Your continuing support and encouragement are greatly appreciated and bode well for the future of the state’s bioscience community.

I also wish to recognize the sponsors that enabled us to provide complimentary attendance to 75  guests at the workshop – the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO), PhRMA, and Novo Nordisk. Sponsors of the Knowledge Fair and Expo included UPS, PhRMA, Central New Mexico Community College (CNM), VWR, CNM Ingenuity Center, STC-UNM, Aerotek, Peacock Law P.C., New Mexico Tech Works and BIO. Their sponsorships enabled us to greatly reduce our ticket prices from our 2017 inaugural event.

Save the Date: This year’s holiday gathering will be held at Season’s Rotisserie & Grill in Old Town, Albuquerque from 5:30 to 8 pm, Thursday, December 13. You’ll be able to register starting Tuesday, December 1.

Finally, I hope your Thanksgiving holiday is filled with a friendship, gratitude and love as well as turkey and pecan pie.

Best wishes — Greg Byrnes/Executive Director
